Born in the UK to hardworking parents, Jamie Featherstone grew up in a council house in eastern England, being the youngest of seven siblings. Academically blessed, Jamie earned a scholarship to the town’s public grammar school before starting a career in information technology at the dawn of fibre optic cables.

Fast-forward 5 years to 1985 and a career change was afoot.  Retraining, Jamie was grounded in the construction industry as a trade apprentice, becoming an awarded craftsman, before working through all off-site roles in construction and development, having business success along the way whilst MD of his family’s sizeable commercial construction company.

Jamie and Karen moved their young family to Melbourne in the mid-2000s.  Working as a manager for developers, PM consultancies and household name and stock exchange-listed Australian companies, Jamie acquainted himself with, and established a network within the Victorian construction scene.

Jamie is a registered commercial builder and has an MBA degree.

As founder of the Seven Child group, there is little Jamie hasn’t either built, as a builder, or managed as a manager.
